Reviews and Ratings
The hotel was cozy and mostly friendly, with a sizable 1-bedroom room that had a separate living area, even though the 'refurbishment' was lacking. The location in Old Town Alexandria was convenient, though being in a basement room was a bit odd.
The hotel's room refurbishment was disappointing, setting a negative tone for the stay. The rooms upstairs continued the trend with dank, smelly, and poorly air-conditioned spaces. On the positive side, the service was outstanding, with staff members like Jack, Amanda, and Zuzu going above and beyond to anticipate every need. The location near downtown Alexandria offers a nice setting with pretty trees and brick walls, but it falls short of being truly convenient for waterfront access. The dining experience, including a traditional shabu-shabu option, offered a comfortable ambiance and a chance to interact with locals. Unfortunately, the facilities did not match the service level, with the lackluster room condition overshadowing other amenities.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed below street level, which I appreciated, but the location was a bit off for me. The service was fantastic, with the staff being super friendly and accommodating. However, the dining options were limited, and I encountered some issues with communication and shuttle service.
My stay at the hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, the location is excellent, especially for exploring Alexandria, Virginia. The rooms, while nicely furnished, were unfortunately under construction, leading to some inconvenience. The service was a bit hit or miss, with staff working hard to make up for lacking amenities, but not always succeeding. The dining experience was saved by delicious food but marred by a rushed atmosphere. Despite these drawbacks, the value for money was decent.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The rooms were bright, clean, and well-appointed, making for an excellent experience overall. While the shower and toilet felt very dated, the comfort of the room made up for it. The exceptional service truly went above and beyond, attending to my every need and preference. The location was perfect for strolling around the old part of Alexandria and enjoying the charm of the area. The dining experience was delightful, and I especially enjoyed the intimate restaurant off the bar. The facilities were top-notch, making my stay even more enjoyable.
